Our Story
In 2007, Sam Silvio and his is brother Nick, opened what was then a first-of-its-kind dining experience in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area – a traditional Brazilian-style Churrascaria (steakhouse, or literally, "house of meat") in KC's northland. This all came about while Sam was vacationing in Argentina and saw firsthand the popularity of this dining concept and felt that it would be a great match for the meat lovers of the American Midwest. Sam was right, and Em Chamas Brazilian Grill, located in The Village at Burlington Creek, has been a popular location ever since. The most popular feature at Em Chamas is the fixed price $49.95 Rodízio Service, that consists of two distinct courses. It begins at the Gourmet Bar, which consists of over 30 cold and hot soups, salads, and side items. Our gourmet bar features a variety of dishes, including Brazil's national dish, feijoada—a rich black bean and beef & pork stew—alongside mixed green salads and Brazilian beef stroganoff, offering a delightful sampling experience for every guest. After visiting the Gourmet Bar, the second and main course, consisting of the "rodízio" itself, begins at the guest's leisure. Rodízio means "to rotate" in Portuguese and the service is just that, in every sense of the word. Beginning with the grill process itself, the 14 different cuts of meat are grilled rotisserie-style over a wood-burning open flame.
Selections include everything from traditional Brazilian cuts of beef (including Picanha, the very top of the top sirloin and national cut of Brazil), to pork, chicken, and even lamb. Next, the various cuts are brought on large skewers to each table by the meat servers, called Passadores, on a continually rotating basis, and are carved tableside in small portions, allowing guests to sample the different selections as many times as they wish. At Em Chamas, the guest is in charge of the meal, and can enjoy as many side items from the Gourmet Bar and as many meats from the rodízio service as they would like! The experience at Em Chamas Brazilian Grill is truly unlike any other style of dining, and each visit offers guests the chance to try the ever-changing selection of items on the Gourmet Bar as well as Brazilian classics found on the rodízio meat service. At Em Chamas Brazilian Grill, we look forward to taking care of you on any occasion, large or small!
